De inzending betreft een bijzonder nieuw bouwproject dat binnenkort gerealiseerd zal worden op Exuma: de villa ‘The Diamond House’. Deze unieke woning wordt gebouwd uit geprefabriceerd staal en is ontworpen met het oog op maximale veiligheid, onder andere door de constructie te voorzien van bescherming tegen orkanen.
Het ontwerp van ‘The Diamond House’ is geïnspireerd op de vormen van een diamant, wat niet alleen bijdraagt aan de esthetiek, maar ook aan de structurele integriteit van het gebouw. De staalconstructie is zorgvuldig uitgewerkt in het programma Tekla, waarbij BIM-technologie een essentiële rol speelt. Door gebruik te maken van BIM konden alle betrokken partijen vanaf de ontwerpfase nauwkeurig samenwerken. De stabiliteitsstudie (door Verhoeven-Leenders) kon dankzij BIM in het Tekla model geprojecteerd worden wat bij de diverse knopen een absolute meerwaarde is gebleken. Het staalframe (door c3staalframebouw) kon vervolgens dankzij BIM uitgewerkt worden op basis van de getekende staalstructuur. Ook voor de technische uitvoerbaarheid is het modelleren in Tekla een meerwaarde gebleken. Door de complexe, niet rechtlijnige vormen is het van groot belang geweest om op voorhand knelpunten zoals bereikbaarheid van bouten en clashes tussen de verschillende elementen in beeld te krijgen.
Wij zijn ervan overtuigd dat dit project niet alleen een architectonisch hoogstandje zal worden, maar ook een veilige en duurzame woning die perfect aansluit bij de omgeving en de wensen van de toekomstige bewoners.
Op dit moment is het tekenwerk voor dit project nog in volle gang. Dit is ook af te leiden uit de meegeleverde foto´s en bestanden. Het eindresultaat volgt nog!

The entry concerns a special new construction project that will soon be realized on Exuma: the villa “The Diamond House. This unique home will be built from prefabricated steel and has been designed with maximum safety in mind, including providing the structure with hurricane protection.
The design of ‘The Diamond House’ is inspired by the shapes of a diamond, which contributes not only to the aesthetics but also to the structural integrity of the building. The steel structure was carefully worked out in the Tekla program, with BIM technology playing an essential role. By using BIM, all parties involved were able to collaborate accurately from the design phase. The stability study (by Verhoeven-Leenders) could be projected into the Tekla model thanks to BIM, which proved to be an absolute added value at the various nodes. The steel frame (by c3staalframebouw) could then be worked out on the basis of the drawn steel structure thanks to BIM. Modeling in Tekla also proved an added value for the technical feasibility. Because of the complex, non-straight-line shapes, it was very important to visualize bottlenecks such as accessibility of bolts and clashes between the various elements in advance.
We are convinced that this project will be not only an architectural masterpiece, but also a safe and sustainable home that perfectly fits the environment and the wishes of the future residents.
Currently, the drawing work for this project is still in progress. This can also be seen from the photos and files provided. The final result will follow!
