Shopping Centre „Kalverpassage“ lies in the heart of Amsterdam and was completed in 1997. Back then it was a huge undertaking to merge different buildings into one big shopping centre with a new parking garage underneath it. roughly 20 years later the owner decided it was time for a complete remodel / renovation. A few key structural operations include: 3D point clouds transferred via planes in .iges files – creating extra floor space by creating circular overhangs – Removal of all old spiral stairways and production of new modern circular stairways – removal of 2 concrete columns and 2 load bearing concrete walls with help of heavy steel portal constructions – steel glass profiles which also act as CIP concrete formwork – (bent) steelwork for LED light ceilings.
