Signalbygget is a seven- storey office building in Trondheim, Norway with usable area of 5300 m². Distinctive elements of architecture are large, overhanged glass facade and curved front elevation of the building.

Besides underground cast-in-situ walls all structural elements are precast reinforced concrete made by Spenncon, designed by CES Polska with usage of three- dimensional reference, calculation and structural models. Without Tekla Structures and BIM technology it would have been very difficult to make the distinctive architecture possible. Another advantage of BIM technology is the possibility to check the production status of each particular element. Sitting 1600km from the building site we can answer the client if a revision is still possible to be made.

To coordinate all branches: architectural, structural, plumbing, ventilation and electrical we used only IFC models that were synchronized on BIMSync online platform which made all the collisions easy to spot and conceptual changes comfortable to discuss. During design phase a 3D calculation modell was made based on Tekla Structures modell. Internal coordination between our office in Lodz and Spenncon’s office in Trondheim was possible thanks to Tekla Model Sharing.
