Nowy szpital dziecięcy z wyzwaniami inżynieryjnymi
Organiczne formy konstrukcji stalowej dla innowacyjnej konstrukcji szpitala.
Jako dostawca firmy LM Byg, Give Steel dostarczyło i zainstalowało konstrukcje stalowe dla Szpitala Marii Elżbiety, znanego również jako “Królestwo Dzieci”. Dzięki miękkim, organicznym formom, nowy stołeczny szpital dziecięcy kontrastuje z prostopadłościennym wyglądem pozostałej części Rigshospitalet, szpitala akademickiego w Kopenhadze. Złożoność tego projektu wymagała zatem zastosowania wielu różnych rodzajów stalowych dźwigarów i kształtów.
Łącznie dostarczono i zmontowano 1500 ton stalowych podstropowych belek kompozytowych GSY® oraz prawie 900 ton pozostałej stali konstrukcyjnej. Elementy te stanowiły część dachu, oranżerii i kładki dla pieszych. Kładka jest również najcięższym elementem projektu. Ma 26 metrów długości i waży 30 ton. W przyszłości połączy ona nowy szpital dziecięcy z głównym budynkiem Rigshospitalet. Zarówno kładka dla pieszych, jak i duże belki z giętej stali wykorzystane do budowy oranżerii, były trudne do zainstalowania ze względu na ich rozmiar i bardzo ograniczoną przestrzeń wokół placu budowy.
Ruch uliczny w Kopenhadze, budynki w okolicy i wiele drzew wzdłuż drogi dojazdowej stanowiły przeszkody, które należało wziąć pod uwagę podczas montażu, co wymagało użycia dużych dźwigów i podnośników. Dobra współpraca między wszystkimi zaangażowanymi stronami była podstawą, jeśli chodzi o rozwiązywanie wyzwań zawodowych i logistycznych, przed którymi stanęliśmy. Szpital ma łączną powierzchnię 60 000 m2, rozłożoną na ośmiu skrzydłach w kształcie palców, wysokich na osiem pięter. Szpital został zaprojektowany jako dwie dłonie z palcami wyciągniętymi w kierunku świata zewnętrznego. Budowa ma zostać ukończona w 2026 roku.

The Kingdom – Kids’ Hospital
New children’s hospital with engineering challenges
Organically formed complex steel structures for new innovative hospital construction.
As a supplier to LM Byg, Give Steel has delivered and installed the steel structures for Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital, also known as “the Children’s Kingdom”. With its soft organic forms, the capital’s new children’s hospital stands in contrast to the perpendicular appearance of the rest of Rigshospitalet. Therefore, this project’s complexity required the use of many different types of steel trusses and forms.
Overall, 1500 tons of GSY® composite beams for the decks and almost 900 tons of other structural steel were delivered and assembled. These elements were a part of a roof house, conservatories, and a footbridge. The footbridge is also the heaviest element of the project. It is 26 metres long and weighs 30 tons. In the future, it will connect the new children’s hospital with Rigshospitalet’s main building. Both the footbridge and the large rolled steel beams used for the conservatories were challenging to install due to their size and very limited space surrounding the construction work.
Copenhagen traffic, buildings in the surrounding area, and many trees along the road were all obstacles that needed to be taken into account during assembly, which required the use of large cranes and lifts. Good teamwork between all parties involved was a bedrock when it came to resolving the professional and logistical challenges we faced. The hospital has a total area of 60,000 m2, spread over eight finger-shaped wings, eight stories high. The hospital is designed like two hands with fingers outstretched towards the outside world. Construction is expected to be completed in 2026.
