Prijsvraaginzending – MXI4: Revolutionaire architectuur met Tekla Software
Met MXI4 zetten we een nieuwe standaard in woningbouw: een revolutionair prefab concept met een duidelijke wauw factor, volledig van schets tot realisatie ontworpen met innovatieve inzet van Tekla Structures, Trimble Connect, SketchUp en de AR-app. In samenwerking met NVDTA Architects en Metadecor hebben we een woning ontwikkeld waarin design, techniek en uitvoerbaarheid naadloos samenkomen dankzij intensieve BIM samenwerking.
De kracht van MXI4 zit in de duurzame, slimme gridstructuur, zorgvuldig vastgelegd in de BIM bibliotheek. Het resultaat is een modulair, schaalbaar en eenvoudig aanpasbaar bouwsysteem toekomstbestendig en duurzaam. De lichte fundering met innovatieve randkist dient zowel als bekisting als verankeringspunt voor de staalconstructie. Deze stalen elementen zijn voorzien van geïntegreerde bevestigingssystemen en strategisch geplaatste isolatie, een toonbeeld van technische verfijning.
De vloeren, opgehangen in de constructie, bieden ruimte aan alle installaties. De vrij indeelbare binnenwanden zorgen voor maximale flexibiliteit. De gevel gekenmerkt door grote, verlijmde glasvlakken, wordt omlijst door een uniek patroon van MD Formatura panelen. Geïnspireerd op het Vlaamse metselwerkverband en parametrisch ontworpen, vormen deze panelen een dynamische, golvende huid die esthetiek, zonwering, daglichttoetreding en privacy verenigt.
MXI4 bewijst dat hoogwaardige architectuur schaalbaar en betaalbaar kan zijn dankzij vergaande digitalisering en BIM integratie. Elk element is tot in detail ontworpen, geproduceerd en geassembleerd. Elk paneel is uniek, het proces herhaalbaar. Een krachtige synergie van creativiteit en technologie.

Contest entry – MXI4: Revolutionary architecture with Tekla Software
With MXI4 we set a new standard in housing construction: a revolutionary prefabricated concept with a clear wow factor, designed entirely from sketch to realization with innovative use of Tekla Structures, Trimble Connect, SketchUp and the AR app. In collaboration with NVDTA Architects and Metadecor, we developed a home where design, engineering and feasibility come together seamlessly thanks to intensive BIM collaboration.
The strength of MXI4 lies in its sustainable, smart grid structure, carefully captured in the BIM library. The result is a modular, scalable and easily adaptable building system future-proof and sustainable. The lightweight foundation with innovative edge box serves as both formwork and anchoring point for the steel structure. These steel elements feature integrated fastening systems and strategically placed insulation, a model of technical sophistication.
The floors, suspended in the structure, provide space for all installations. The freely dividable interior walls provide maximum flexibility. The facade characterized by large, bonded glass surfaces, is framed by a unique pattern of MD Formatura panels. Inspired by the Flemish masonry pattern and designed parametrically, these panels form a dynamic, undulating skin that unites aesthetics, shading, daylighting and privacy.
MXI4 proves that high-quality architecture can be scalable and affordable thanks to extensive digitization and BIM integration. Each element is designed, manufactured and assembled in detail. Each panel is unique, the process repeatable. A powerful synergy of creativity and technology.
