The Grand Théâtre de Rabat is part of a programme of Moroccan cultural development. The King of Morocco invited globally renowned architect Zaha Hadid to design a new theatre in Morocco’s capital city. Her creation led to a highly complex structure that was designed by the London based AKTII engineering firm.

The team of GRID International and PROINDUSTRIAL worked at the request of the structural steelwork contractor SGTM to develop the structural detailing and manufacturing plans for the execution of the steel structures. The complex geometrical shapes presented major challenges and resulted in a unique set of structures that are worth remembering.

Working with Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect was key to success in this challenging project, allowing visualisation of the solutions being developed and faster interaction with all team members.
