The project comprises a commercial building which mainly consists of a warehouse with a mezzanine floor above the dispatch area in combination with two integrated office areas. The entire business premises will be seen as one building part with regard to the main supporting structure and fire resistance. The office consists of 3 floors. The intermediate warehouse has a ground floor and an optional mezzanine floor. At the front, the warehouse is equipped with 13 loading and unloading docks connecting to the surrounding terrain (without loading and unloading pit).
An integral BIM working method has been applied in this project. As an example for this can be mentioned:
– Various parametric Grasshopper scripts have been used to control both the calculations in RFEM and the modelling of the steel construction in Tekla.
– A hybrid method has been used within this project with regard to the structural aspect model of Verhoeven and Leenders, namely a combination of Revit and Tekla in order to make optimal use of the strengths of both modelling environments. The steel construction is modelled in Tekla, so that native Tekla files can be exchanged with the steel supplier. The other structural parts are modelled in Revit, which also includes the IFC file of the steel construction, so that the creation of drawings and the native exchange of Revit files with, among others, the architect can take place.
– Advanced Solibri checks have taken place to verify the steel construction of the steel supplier’s production model with the design model of Verhoeven and Leenders. As a result, the number of ‘manual’ checks has been drastically reduced
