Ambato es una estructura emblemática situada en la ciudad de Ambato, Ecuador. Este proyecto consta de dos subsuelos para parqueos y nueve pisos para aulas y oficinas administrativas, con un área de construcción de 13272 m2.
El edificio es de acero y tiene un peso de 960 toneladas, y está compuesta por columnas cajón, vigas principales y secundarias tipo “I”, soldadas y electrosoldadas respectivamente. Para resistir las fuerzas sísmicas posee un sistema dual, constando con un núcleo de hormigón y riostras en “V” invertidas concéntricas.

The PUCE building in Ambato is an emblematic structure located in the city of Ambato, Ecuador. This project consists of two basements for parking and nine floors for classrooms and administrative offices, with a construction area of 12727 m2.
The building is made of steel with a weight of 960 tons, and is composed of box columns, main and secondary beams type “I”, welded and high frequency welding respectively. To resist seismic forces, it has a dual system, consisting of a concrete core and concentric inverted “V” braces.
