O projeto insere-se na reabilitação do Mercado 2 de Maio, localizado no centro histórico de Viseu. Além da reorganização dos espaços exteriores e a renovação das infraestruturas, o projeto inclui a cobertura total da praça com estrutura metálica e revestimento em vidro fotovoltaico que vai permitir, não só, dotar este espaço de um conforto maior, com recurso à produção de energia limpa.
O projeto de arquitetura é da autoria de Braga Macedo Arquitectos, a coordenação das especialidades de engenharia da Blokk e a engenharia de estruturas metálicas da Steelplan.
The aim of this project was the rehabilitation of the “Mercado 2 de Maio“, located in the city center of Viseu, in Portugal.
Beyond the new design of the exterior spaces and the renovation of infrastructures, the project includes the full coverage of its open space with a canopy made with a metallic structure and photovoltaic glass panels, that will allow not only more comfort for its public use but also the production of clean and free energy.
The architectural project was done by “Braga Macedo Arquitectos”, the engineering coordination assured by “Blokk” and steel structures engineering by Steelplan.

Está em fase de concurso. A construção ainda deverá começar este ano.

Está longe da leveza de S. Marcos, feio muito feio uma nave para um pavilhão desportivo/ industrial , nunca para uma praça do Siza Vieira. Peca por grosseiro e caro mais estéticos seriam os tetraedros da patente portuguesa bem mais ligeira em todas as acepções. Temos pena que vá sofrer Embargo!
