De brug “Luton Dart Gateway Bridge” is een onderdeel van het Luton DART project (Direct Air-Rail Transit). Het project verbindt London Luton Airport met het Parkway-station van de stad. De uitdaging bestond erin om het dek in twee verschillende geometrieën uit te tekenen, omdat de luifel (spine truss) na het betonneren (doorbuiging staal+beton) pas werd gemonteerd. Hiervoor hebben we gebruikgemaakt via Grasshopper – Rhino en Tekla Livelink om de geometrie in de verschillende situaties uit te zetten in Tekla en juiste vormgeving van het stalen brugdek + luifel te bekomen.
The bridge named as the “Luton Dart Gateway Bridge” is part of the Luton DART scheme (Direct Air-Rail Transit). The scheme will link London Luton Airport with the town’s Parkway station. The challenge was to design the deck in two different geometries because the spine truss was only erected after concreting (steel+concrete deflection). We used Grasshopper – Rhino and Tekla Livelink for setup this geometry in the different situations in Tekla and to obtain the correct design of the steelbridge deck + spine truss.
